John N. Cardoulis | 1927 - 1997
This award was established to honor the memory of John N. Cardoulis. John was a founding member of the Association and served as president for several terms. He held the position of Fire Commissioner for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador from 1978 to 1988. Prior to that he was a Fire Protection Consultant to the Newfoundland fire service. Although being retired since 1988, John was very active in many aspects of the fire service until his death in 1997.
The award is granted for an effort or contribution to the cause of fire prevention and/or fire safety education within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador; which could be considered an outstanding and recognizable achievement by the members of the Association; demonstrating a notable commitment above the norm.
