Brief to Government
To Inform | To Lobby | To Request
Each year, your association requests an opportunity to present an annual brief to the Social Policy Committee of Cabinet. It is our hope that by keeping government informed of the issues related to the fire service in the province, lobbying for adequate funding and services, and placing requests on behalf of the fire service, that we can help to enhance the fire services as a whole in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
The Social Policy Committee is responsible for reviewing Cabinet submissions on issues involving social policy departments (i.e., Health and Community Services; Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs; Education and Early Childhood Development; Child, Youth and Family Services; Justice and Public Safety; Service NL, Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs Office; Seniors, Wellness and Social Development), and for providing recommendations to Cabinet. This committee does not have the authority to make decisions without reference to Cabinet.
On this page you will find our most recent briefs written and presented to government.
